Mary Waechter

Mary Waechter is a graduate of Penn State University, class of 2009 (B.S., Kinesiology). She took over the head coaching duties of Penn State Harrisburg’s Cross Country Program (both the Men’s and Women’s teams) in the fall of 2011, before joining Drexel University’s Sport Management Program.

During her years at Penn State University as a student, Waechter was a member of Penn State’s Cross Country Club, including one year (2007-2008) as the Women’s team captain and another year (2008-2009) as the club’s president. She left State College, PA for Gainesville, FL where she earned her Masters of Science in Sport Management in 2011 from the University of Florida, and spent a year as a board member of the Florida Track Club.

Waechter also spent time as an officer of Penn State’s Triathlon Club and a coach at the Nike Green Mountain Running Camp in Vermont. She stills runs competitively in both cross country and road races, and looks forward to many more years of coaching.
