One Explanation for the Scarcity of Female Coaches

Females coaches are in the minority at all levels–youth, high school and college (if you want to see the statistics, click on these links). The barriers and factors which influence the scarcity phenomenon are complex. Based on the research and some high profile cases, it is safe to conjecture that homophobia and a climate of intolerance are contributing factors to declining female coaches.
